I refuse to be referred to as 'it' -- in my idiolect to refer to a sophont as 'it' is to imply that ... it ... is a hypothetical or otherwise abstract entity, as in this case, or that it's not really a sophont; 'it' is the pronoun of toasters -- and most of the gender-neutral pronouns grafted on to English just sound unnatural to me. 'Gtst' does too, but it sounds so over-the-top bizarre that it doesn't bother me -- it's not even trying to pass for English, so it causes no dissonance.
Plus, funny connotations. I live for funny connotations.
