I was wandering around Rhode Island for all of yesterday, so I was lacking news, right?
Then Calluna and I wandered into a gaming store, where three kids and two men were intently playing some card game and ignoring us completely.
I poked around at the comics and the video games, and had to ask 6 people before I figured out the price on the comics. I eventually bought some of 'em. The card players continued to ignore me. I asked the counter guy about the Sox, and he explained that he'd been working all day. The card players ignored us.
I asked the card players, and they were like, "Huh?" One of the kids said, paying me slightly more attention, "9-1. Pokey Reese got two home runs."
And I said, "/Pokey Reese/?!"
Five heads simultaneously turned to look at me. There was this brief shock of, "Hey. She's a person." 'Course, I was leaving just then so it made no difference, but hey.
