I like my brother. I got to spend a bunch of time talking with him about life. We have a hard time keeping in touch by phone and email, though; it's a relationship that really is at its best face-to-face.

He gave me a lift up to Kentlands, and I spent a goodly part of the afternoon poking around. There is a bead store two doors down from the pagan shop; always dangerous. (I got the materials to make a necklace which will be dedicated to Ht-Hrw. I need to give Her more presents. ;) )

I also located a random gift for [livejournal.com profile] keshwyn. Hah! Payback time! ;)

After I was all Kentlandsed out, I camped out and worked on trying to plot bits of the WIP which are being complicated -- [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses and I were talking about this and we worked out the threads that I needed to get in before the Big Major Event I'm building up to, some fraction of which I fear I've forgotten. So I'm trying to figure out where they go. Just realised that one has to go before some of what I have; my notes are getting even more scribbly than they were, and they were already in that "It's a good thing I know what I wrote, because I can't actually read this" state.

Met [livejournal.com profile] oldsma face to face for the first time. We went back to Dad's and spent time talking (Dad got to pontificate a bit, which he always enjoys, especially when he's been reading stuff that interests him). Life, the universe, religion, writing. I got to read a bunch of cinquentas and also got a bit of a precis of what isn't getting worked on in the moment, which sounds awfully cool. I made dinner for the three of us, with passable success, though not perhaps as well-done on [livejournal.com profile] oldsma's steak as would have happened in an ideal world.

I am very tired. I managed to get through my Rite mostly on the strength of the commitment I'd made to do it. I keep smelling kyphi everywhere, and was before I did Rite, though. Fascinating.

I love the Washington metro area in the spring. Ah, the thick golden falls of pollen, the bottomless fonts of goo . . .

I miss [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan. I miss [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses.

::snrk:: Yeah, my natural length is more like 80 words, but there's no market for those.
