Going south tomorrow to take care of Dad. Will not be online constantly; visiting Dad means dialup. (For Maryland people: I don't know how likely I'll be to be able to hang out, though I'm pretty sure Dad wouldn't mind if people dropped by. I won't be with
teinedreugan, so I'm not mobile except by bicycle (if one's working) or transit, though.) (Note to me: if there's a working bike, go up to Kentlands and look for that pagan store that
morningwind was talking about.)
Okay, iTunes, stop it.
We'll see how I do when it's mostly just me and Dad. I'm having cut-off-from-people angst enough with regard to
brooksmoses; being away from both him and
teinedreugan at the same time isn't something I've done for rather a while. I hope to spend the time getting plenty of work done, though. (Probably won't get much more than the 293 I've got written done today.)
There is just enough light from the laptop that when Arthur looks up at me from the foot of the bed, his disembodied almond eyes glow featurelessly. This is sort of disturbing me, especially since my best angle to see it is when I'm looking down at what I'm working on and thus getting it out of peripheral-top vision. The light's not aimed his way, damnit. I'm torn between being a little spooked by my utterly harmless cat and being awed by the evolutionary processes that gave cats that effective a reflective layer in their eyes.
(Speaking of cats: You wouldn't believe how detrimental it is to one's typing skills to have a cat standing on the back of your neck and knowing that if he loses his balance he will sink his claws into whatever he can reach and slide inexorably downwards. I had that little issue earlier with Lennon.)

(The Kentlands is an attempt to build a pretty upscale community where one doesn't need a car to do basic stuff, or that was the original notion. It's got a huge shopping district in the middle of it these days. It's located in the northeast quadrant of where MD Rt. 28 meets MD Rt. 124 in Darnestown/Gaithersburg.)

(It's a really mediocre website.)
