Today's miscellaneous shiny objects:

The sentence: "Peyote is NOT a Magic Button." (Context: better Enlightenment through chemistry.)

Truly horrible (but, I'm told, high-quality) bad jokes in a [livejournal.com profile] dot_cattiness post made by [livejournal.com profile] iced_spice.

[livejournal.com profile] immaculatemonk: an Exalted-game-universe humor journal begun by [livejournal.com profile] lstone. (Stupid Master. Stupid Immaculate Order.) Speaking of Exalted, wrote the extended background dance remix for my character for the game [livejournal.com profile] lstone's running, who may actually be introduced sometime soon. (*waits for [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut's glower*)

From [livejournal.com profile] lizw, and this is actually yesterday's shiny object: The best opening line to a news story ever.

I found my copy of Roxette's Tourism, which I was frantically looking for a while ago because I desperately needed "Silver Blue". Have since listened to Silver Blue twice. (Located Tourism while looking desperately for REM's Out of Time; conservation of misplaced albums continues.) Went on another ripping binge, including getting "Zion hört die Wächter singen" from Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme ripped. My favorite Bach ever ever ever. As in, I'm insane enough to want a dozen copies of this piece so I can have an all Wachet auf, all the time playlist. Really want the lovely organ instrumental version that WETA plays at 5am. (When I was in high school, I would set my alarm for 4:55, just so I could hear it play. Then I'd go back to sleep until Morning Edition.)

Words so far: 202. May get more. Who knows? I might sleep instead.

I have both Tourism and Out of Time. Perhaps the next time you miss an album, you could look for it in my collection, since we seem to have significant overlap. *)

I was actually thinking of uploading mp3s for you, since my collection is about 80% ripped at this point, but yeah, that'd be nice. *)

Argh, bad pun!

I was very very glad that my ex had two copies of Tourism and left me one, for that same song. (And I also have Out of Time, for that matter.)

Unfortunately, I can't seem to magically produce this one. I do have an organ version of the prelude from that cantata, though....
