If you call me "Heather Anne", you're my father being either whimsical or irritated, or you're wcg, who pays attention.
If you call me "Heather Dime", you're Andy Shane, and I haven't seen you since junior year of high school because you granulated that year.
On the other hand, if you call me "Heather Penny", you're my kindergarten teacher.

If you call me "Ms./Mrs. [surname]", you're being quite formal, and probably making me suspect you're a telemarketer.
If you call me "Mrs. [teinedreugan's surname], you're either a telemarketer or an elderly relative, probably teinedreugan's.
If you don't know who I am unless I say "Mickey's daughter", you're one of my Boston-Irish relatives.

If you call me "Darkhawk", you know me from usenet, mailing lists, other bits of the 'net, some pagan circles, or through introductions by Jerrod.
If you call me "DH", you're Avi, and I've forgotten your surname.
If you call me by any of my other aspect-specific labels, you're trying to get in touch with someone specific in here, and I'll try to take a message.

On the other hand, if you call me "Lilairen", you probably know me from KemetOnline. Or, uh, livejournal, I suppose.

If you call me "Yo, Felding!" you know me from Wellesley.
If you call me "Roomie-san" you lived with me at Wellesley, and are therefore keshwyn.

If you call me "sis", you're donperros.
If you call me "girl", you're apparently dirtydianadd. ;)

If you call me "Gabe", you're lstone and absentminded. Or, possibly, shaddragon on occasion.
If you call me "Anna", you're logged into NE2.
If you call me "Sio", you're oneironaut, roimata, lstone, or keeps, and absentminded.
If you call me "Whit" or "Whitney", you're oneironaut, keeps, lstone, annwyd, or humanx. Or, indeed, one of several other people.
If you call me by a select variety of other names, we're currently playing an RPG.

If you call me "child", you're quite likely to be a ntjr and thus entitled.

Nobody calls me "mistress" anymore, and that was rather under special circumstances anyway.

If you call me "dear", you're either teinedreugan or brooksmoses.
If you call me "my dear competitor", you're oneironaut.

If you call me Ki, you're . . . you know, I suspect only my crazy ex called me that regularly. brooksmoses has occasionally, too.

If you call me Kiya, you're paying more attention to my processing than more or less everyone.

It is possible that I may have addressed you as "dear" at some point, as in my culture of origin it is a term of affection generally addressed to friends whose presence is cheering one up and you are among the people who have at times done so. It's not something I am generally overly conscious of. Should you prefer me not to do so, do let me know; I have no wish to presume.

Been a while since I called you (or thought of you as) Gabe, I think. ;)

Whitney, though. But mostly Darkhawk, when I think of a name at all. Funny about internet friends with lots of names... I stop thinking of them by name, more by 'presence.'
