We have someone coming to look at the house at ungodly in the morning tomorrow, so of course there is the tidying and the fiddling and the this, that, and the other, and I'm sick of this and want to go home.

Wherever home is.

More cheerfully:

[livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and I went to get a pump for my lily tank and ogled birdies and snakies. There was a young royal draped over a stick looking quite serene. And tiny! tiny! cornsnakes. When I boggled at the question of what one feeds a snake that tiny, [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan suggested "Gnats". So cute.

Geckoes also cute. And frogs.

Birdies ogled: the most bored-looking macaw I have ever seen. Two cockatoos, one of whom insisted on barking noisily, which is why I don't want a cockatoo. Several sun conures (shiny!), an African grey, some Quakers, some Amazons. Brief glances at some extremely hyperactive finches, a pair of doves, miscellaneous canaries, some cockatiels, and a bunch of budgies.

Also bonus peering at juvenile ferrets and a rabbit. The hedgehog enclosure had a bit of cardboard wrapped around it with the note "DO NOT DISTURB" and an indication that one of the hedgies was birthing.

More crankily:

There appears to be an idiot convention being held on the north shore. Or perhaps someone imported a bonus selection of stupid fourteen-year-old boys with buzz cuts, as one of those was the one sitting on the handlebars of the bicycle that was awkwardly navigated into oncoming traffic (that being us), and a near-identical one thought it was just keen to lean up against a parked car with his feet in traffic to chat with the people who were completely blocking the westbound lane with their stopped cars, giving oncoming traffic (see above) the choice of navigating into the cars or over the toes of the damnfool in question.

I've had brownies. I still don't want to deal with this anymore.

Maybe I'll make popcorn too. Meh, but then the pot would have to be dealt with tonight.
