My brother called me at precisely midnight to wish me a happy birthday. (He figured he'd be too busy tomorrow, since apparently all his courses this semester are on Tuesday and Wednesday and he's got a full courseload. Great weekends that way, I suppose.)

We chatted for half an hour, then he went scurrying off to read the Qur'an for his government class. (He's as nonplussed by this as I am.)

And now, I think, as I did last year, I'm going to try to wait until the correct minute to post this, as it's only about a quarter-hour away.

I made myself some chicken korma. Unfortunately, my whole cloves seem to have gone AWOL, so I had to use ground; this made the result, for some reason, grey. Very disconcerting, non-food-coloured. Still good food.

Been a while since I did a wordcount. I just finished section 110, which was 523 words, and I'm not sure how many words I've skipped reporting between last and this and am not going to dig through back entries to find out. Hah.

Talked with teinedreugan about how to handle this section while we were doing grocery. Got it debugged enough to write; all good.

Talking to brooksmoses tonight. Yay.
