Found my Henry V soundtrack! Hah! Q'apla! (I've been wanting to find it for a while.) Of course, I found it while I was looking for one of my King's Singers CDs, for the sake of conservation of missing music. (I can find New Day and The Beatles Collection, but I can't remember what's on Spirit Voices, or even if I'm remembering the title right.) Also ripped my copy of the theme to Exodus, in the version I own, which isn't as good as the one Jhoon Rhee's studios use for the form that goes to it, but any Exodus is better than no Exodus. I'd hum a few bars, but I don't think anyone could fake it in text.

That's a wicked lot of italics tags I've got there.

Remembered to top up my lily and papyrus tank. Also finally finished assembling the lamp that's supposed to be supplementing its sunlight, putting it on the timer, and putting in the lightbulbs. So that's going successfully now that I've figured out how to use the timer (because I'm spectacularly good at missing the utterly obvious components of things like that).

Other entertainments for the day included taking my temperature at random intervals to see what it's doing. I'm beginning to suspect my body temperature may have drifted closer to "normal" as I've gotten older and less thyroidally weird. (Though hypos are supposed to be cold-intolerant and hypers heat-intolerant, according to one website I scanned earlier, and I'm a heat-intolerant hypo, so maybe I'm still weird.)

Section 17: 1197 words (total) (finished), which makes today's count 654.
Got up, checked on Kundalini -- he was out, curled up in the corner. Stuck shed, getting a bit dehydrated; not good. (He hasn't had that issue for a while, since I got the tank humidifier; I'm going to check that setup and tinker with it later to be sure it's functioning right.)

Ran a snake bath. (Lukewarm water, with a little bit of shedding-assist chemistry which I haven't used in so long it took me a while to find it in the tank base.) Checked the humidifier -- it doesn't need filling, but the hose may be kinked.

My baby's gotten big (photo cut). )

Unlike previous bathing rounds, he didn't spend all his time in the water wrigging to get out and explore, until he felt thwarted and subsided into a sullen drift. This time he spent a fair bit of time under the water, and soaked a fair while -- I think he came to the conclusion that it felt good. Both cats tried to investigate; I splashed both (having both hands free from the need to herd snakie makes defensive measures easier). Lennon decided that was enough of a hint, Arthur kept trying, aside from a couple of brief breaks where he forgot the snake was out and stalked the tank for a while instead.

Eventually Kunda had had Enough Of This and decided to go out; his effort of sliding over my hands shed a lot of the stuck stuff on his belly, and he's not looking wrinkly and unhappy anymore. Returned to tank, after a brief and uneventful nosesniff with Arthur, who has freaked out about the existence of snake-in-tank again, and then gotten distracted and wandered off.

Also, this conversation with [livejournal.com profile] lstone happened:
[livejournal.com profile] lstone: Pretty. Ball pythons aren't dangerous to humans, are they?
Me: Not unless you wrap one around your neck.
So last night I was quoting "I Go To Extremes" at [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut in terms of describing the major characters in the WIP. And I went looking for Storm Front and failed to find it.

So today I was looking for Spirit Voices again and . . . found Storm Front. So I pulled a couple of MP3s off it, and was listening to "And So It Goes".

And realised that somewhere in the space between "I Go To Extremes" and "And So It Goes" are where these people are living. Poor things.

(Mmmmmmm, rock bagpipes. I wish I could find this group's CD. Mmmmmmm.)

Okay. Work do now. I've been looking forward to writing 18 all week, and now I'm there.

!!!

Grand slams in consecutive at-bats.

Twelfth time ever.

I think we can say Bill Mueller is having a good game.

Addendum: First player ever to have a grand slam from each side of the plate in the same game.

(Also: Section 18: 910 words (done).)
