So, a while ago I put together a lily tank, which lives in the green/mathom room.

In an attempt to get it to be a mostly self-sustaining thing, I got fish to give my plants CO2. Something like six months ago.

Among other things, we got a Chinese algae-eater. (We actually got several; the first batch all died, so we got one more. If I'm remembering this sequence right.)

We released the algae-eater into the wild somewhere in June or July ("New Fish Day" was 26 June last year, but that was the one where all the algae-eaters died).

We have not seen it since.

Before today.

It's huge. Something like three inches long, and chubby. (When we got it it was an inch long and ittle.)

It's also vanished again. :}

Oooh, you play In Nomine too? We must geek it sometime -- IN is my gaming system of choice these days, but I haven't a local group for it. So I'm in 3 online IN games.

Thank you! (The snake was found by the family of my long-distance sweetie.)

So tell me about your character concepts, eh?

Ah. I've been in a mood to play mortal Soldiers lately. It started with the clueless mundane who got mistaken for an Elohite and got caught up in things.

My latest to actually see play is an 1890s belly-dancer Soldier of Divine Fire.

I've also got an Ofanite of KnowledgeDestiny, a Girl Scout Malakite (Oath-sworn to the Girl Scout Promise and Law), a Seraph Tsayad, and Haagenti (for a Superiors-based game, obviously).

That's all of my concepts that have actually seen play.

The Superiors series is very good, as well as the Game Master's Guide, Corporeal Player's Guide. The Libers are very useful, but more as utilities and reference books rather than inspiration (IMNSHO). You Are Here includes some very nice locations, including a few that are adventure seeds in their own right. (Check out "The Camp" for an example.) The Ethereal Players Guide is conceptually interesting and has some good mechanics for playing with the Marches, but it's pretty remote from the focus of the rest of the books. You might get some nifty ideas from it; it's just that they wouldn't fit in well with a standard angels vs. demons game.

Want to come over and look at my books sometime?

We had a couple of dimestore goldfish at my folks' place. And then my mother gave up on cleaning the tank, trusting overmuch in the filter to handle it?

Which apparently produced *perfect conditions* for mutatedly huge goldfish.

By the time I saw that one a couple years later, it was 5" long, huge, and perfectly happy. (Weirdly deformed-- it had bumped an eye back when the tank wasn't full of algae-- but happy.)

Thing lived for like 15 years. Go figure.

LOL I love how big those things can get !

In the wild is how those do best. We had one that liked to eat the other fish when I was a kid, so we took it to Dad's favorite tavern and stuck it in their very big, very green tank. When last seen, it was a foot long.
