Mmm, random craving moments.

Ordered a statue I'd seen a while back and sort of went, "Mmm," at. This led me off into random explorations, and now I have a new random craving.

I want a doumbek. Here's a picture of a particularly pretty one. Just . . . mmmmm.

Ooo... I love drums. UMD offers an African Drumming class that quite a few of my friends have taken. And that is a very pretty doumbek. I always worry about buying instruments online-- I mean, what if they sound awful?-- but that's how I bought my harp, and it's got a very nice sound. (I did get recommendations on the luthier first, though.)

Oooh. I want a doumbek. I once went to a sci-fi convention which had an 'introduction to drumming' seminar (why? who knows.) where they handed attendees a doumbek, said 'this is how you do it' and then let us play around for an hour. I loved it.
