Umm, what was the website you recommeded for brewing equipment again? I wanna say it had something to do about Woburn. (I can go through all your journal entries to find it, but I am a very lazy woman.)

Ugh. When I lived in Massachusetts, we were in Hudson and I had to go to Framingham for jury duty. They were utterly oblivious to the idea that a person might live in Hudson and not drive.

However, if I recall correctly, if you don't get picked for a jury, that's it, they won't harrass you endlessly for years, you are considered to have served just by virtue of having got round Massachusetts's lamentable lack of public transit outside the immediate Boston area.

Yeah. I am now de-jurified for the next three years, and have confirmed that the Swampscott station is minutely closer to my house than the Lynn station, but involves steeper hillness.

Hooray for commuter rail. (The courthouse was basically right across a rotary from the commuter rail, which made the whole, 'Okay, I guess I'll . . . take the train home?' aspect of the thing muchly less fraught.)

Oh, good. You must be enough closer to take advantage of such public transit as there is. Our closest rail station was in Afton.

That and being on a fairly major corridor, I'd say. (We're . . . a dozen, maybe fifteen miles north of Boston proper, and right on the coast.)

Last time I was called for jury duty, I was living in Quincy, which is better transitised than here. However, the courthouse I was called to was in Dedham, which isn't. (I had the place I was serving changed to Quincy on that one. :P )
