Soup, redux

Made hot and sour soup this time, for dinner. Had the stuff for it and I didn't want it to go weird. (I'd have made it before but my fresh shiitake mushrooms . . . sort of melted in the heat. I broke out the dried stuff.)

I'm out of rice vinegar. Odds of my remembering this next time I'm at the grocery are very thin. I had to make up the difference with white vinegar.

Mm, soup.

. . . Schilling has more _wins_ than _walks_. Dear gods.

I haven't been paying attention to baseball this year and in fact do not know who Schilling is, but WOW. I believe Elynne says " 0.o ".

(Schilling made me think of seasoning salt or some other spice. Could not figure out how that would have wins or walks. Before I spent too long being puzzled, a cleverer part of my brain pointed out that wins+walks+Darkhawk make sense if you ignore Schilling. Why do I always make these strange, free-associating comments in your journal?)

He's one of the two ace-type pitchers for the Arizona Diamondbacks, the other one being Randy Johnson (The Big Unit).
