I couldn't get a doctor's appointment to deal with the fact that I have painfully infected tubing. So I persuaded [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan to take me down to the walk-in part of the clinic.

I have drugs now. Two hours there, with lots of sitting about -- it was packed tonight. Many miscellaneous small children, including one who was wailing piteously that he really wanted a book. I could relate, but I'd brought one.

The doctor was a good'n, though. He listened to me, flipped through my charts in some detail, agreed that given that I'm under nephrologist observation infected tubing should be dealt with promptly (and apparently believing my descriptions), and thought celery seed tea as a treatment was cool and that he'd have to look into it. He also agreed with my yoghurt. It was overall as pleasant as a doctor's appointment at an overcrowded clinic for an extant, painful condition can be.

And he gave me drugs.

I believe that they now sell the pyrdium over-the-counter. That's the analgesic stuff that makes your pee orange. Not that you should use that as a substitute for seeing the doctor, but when I was having real trouble, the doc prescribed me 50, for those times when I had 12 hours between when it hit and when I could get in for an appointment.
