(Mike the DM here) Yeah, Duskhunter would have been a better name but I didn’t come up with it at the time.
My headcanon is that it’s a bad translation from the Sylvan, which more precisely means something like “Servant-of-dusk who hunts with magic”. But someone shortened the first part to “dusk” and the second part to “hound” in the sense of “assists the hunt”. (Yes I have headcanon as distinct from real canon for my own world. But actually this one is probably true)
