Jenett: I am still cracking up about your "Isobel making breakfast for boyfriend is as extra as Danny making breakfast for boyfriend" bit.
Me: They are both extremely extra in slightly different modalities.
Jenett: Food is important! They agree on this point!
Me: Looking forward to Danny getting his cooking up and starting to make *magic* snacks and Isobel being "... oh reaaaallly" about it.
Jenett: That will be fantastic.
Me: 'Cos he'll be cooking in a different modality from her brewing, at least until they talk shop.
Jenett: Yes. And I think she's a little cautious about food and magic, because all the "not without consent" discourse (which is in this case sensible, but.)
Jenett: And also she is currently not in a position where she's cooking routinely.
Me: Danny in my brain is now shouting "NO I CAN'T JUST KNOCK OUT A HEALING BREW I NEED A BAG OF CHICKEN BONES AND THREE DAYS".
Jenett: See, that one Isobel would appreciate.
Me: It's 100% comprehensible on multiple levels!
Me: And leads to the eventual bonus hilarity of "Check the freezer for the magical chicken stock, I saved some for emergency soup."
Jenett: I am just constantly amused at the usual contents of her fridge these days, which is "eggs, milk, butter, some cream for coffee, some combo of charcuterie goodness" a freezer that has some stored stuff from Margaret, bread, a thing of ice cream, and ice cubes, and then a few apples and an onion or three and some garlic because what is a kitchen without these things? on the counter.
Jenett: Which they would both absolutely do.
Me: Yep.
Me: Danny when he's starting to establish a territorial base: increasingly terrifying.
Jenett: Yes.
Me: He's not that dangerous when he doesn't have things like 'a kitchen', 'a place to store books and magical instruments that's guaranteed to be safe'...
Jenett: And well, now he does.
Me: First: the great biscuit explosion.
Me: But I've done the prereq stuff for that, the reson his bag seemed extra heavy at mermaids was it was full of new cookbooks he just bought
Jenett: Cookbooks are excellent. The biscuit explosion will be great.
Jenett: Isobel is just so cheerful about that menu? And the way the prep synced.
Me: Oh man someone should get Danny The Cooking Gene’.
Jenett: Oh, so much, yes.
