It has finally turned hot which means everything is terrible. (Setting aside that my default feeling at the moment is "everything is terrible" because I am biochemically fucked and basically am at 'Well, I am currently occupying about thirty pounds of carbon that is not currently released into the atmosphere, that's actually worthwhile' on the major depressive episode chart.)
But. Summer. Ugh.
Long days that are bright enough to make me flinch if I don't exhibit careful self-control over not being the kind of weirdo that flinches at ordinary sunlight, what are you, a vampire ha ha? Heat up over a point at which my brain stops working and leaves me kind of stupid and exhausted all the time. The heat-humidity combo means that going outside has me subliminally reacting like something is trying to crush me to death only it wants to be kind of subtle about it.
Also there are mosquitoes and mosquitoes love me.
Working on setting up the midsummer ritual and trying not to die of ennui. Also there is baking to do.
And I still haven't written my short bio. Ugh, short bios are the worst. (I customize them enough for venue that it's hard to boilerplate them like cover letters.)
ETA: also there are people jackhammering or motorized chiseling or something on the outside of the house and it is loud. I aggressively slept at it this morning. They started at 7:30, on the day I actually get to sleep properly, heh.
