Fuck, that's like saying, "if you don't want to be sexually assaulted, don't wear revealing clothing and never go out alone at night." If you do those things and get sexually assaulted, it's not your fault, it's the fault of the assailant. If someone decides to dislike you because you read sci-fi, it's not your fault, it's theirs. Yeah, I'm with you on the umbrage here.
