It is raining.

When [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and I went to the grocery store on the way home from [livejournal.com profile] dpierkowski and [livejournal.com profile] splurby's party, we saw that, at the bottom of hills, the water pressure was enough to send little fountains up through the holes in the manholes.

That, or a water main broke near here.

In the parking lot to the grocery store, a car was left, abandoned, in a slowly rising pond that had swallowed up the road. Rows of shopping carts were laid out to prevent others from falling into the peril.

When we came out of the store, the car had started, plaintively, setting off its alarm. "Help! Help! I'm drowning! Someone pull me out! Help!"

Poor thing.
