Nuit is the one that makes me smell like a girl. :} It amuses me. I'll keep those in mind -- having some dedicated things for the shrine space seems a good idea, and so! Variety! Spicy amber feels right to me too, conceptually.

Basically, I started having this nagging feeling that I should have what amounts to a hearthfire shrine. If I were Greek it'd be a Hestia shrine, y'know? So I'm thinking about Who to set up the shrine to, and I chew on it a while, and get, "Bast! Protection of the house of the Pharaoh which generalised over time, guardian of women and children, this all sounds right. I will set it up to Bast." And then my backbrain threw at me, "And Brighid!" And I said, "... what?" And my backbrain said, "Bast! Set it up to Bast and Brighid!" (This makes sense; Brighid does govern the hearthfire as the center of the family activity and stands as midwife, but buh?)

My current best guess is that this has to do with arawen, who is Brighid's. If I set up a family-focused shrine to just my gods, that would exclude him semi-tacitly, which is unacceptable to me. So this is the way my backbrain solves the problem. Also, the two ladies in question are dealing with different aspects of the thing in somewhat different ways, so it's a more complete matter that way.

I spent a goodly while talking to various folks who know Brighid to make sure nobody thought there'd be personality conflicts, though. :}
