I love Boston. I sat for a while in Copley just watching the sky behind the ornate old church and the glints off the mirror-windowed building beside it. I had finished reading Behind Closed Eyes and was minding a bicycle for someone who had an errand to run in the Library. (And apparently every time I go downtown lately I get hit on. Whassup with that?) I did my sitting and my breathing there in the depths of my city.
whispercricket appeared, and we dithered at the sign outside the Library that said "BOOK SALE and art show, come right in!" Eventually we decided that we had been sucked in, and went and prowled. I got a few things semi-randomly (it's easy to be random at library booksales), including something for
brooksmoses. (Comment: "I'll show this to
suzimoses and she'll understand immediately." Which, in fact, she did.)
Then we went to Lush and got thingies. And to Tealuxe, where we did not get lunch, but
whispercricket got a teapot. And then we prowled Newbury for a bit, which is always dangerous. Got some funkypants at a Tibetan import shop, along with a scarf and a very neat shirt. Currently wearing the pants, though when I sit the way I normally do they're more of a loincloth.
There was this store. For context, we went in somewhere and I immediately glommed onto this string of bright blue beads with purple highlights, and explained this with, "Excuse me. Must ogle shiny blue thing." This store was all shiny blue things. Wandered out of it muttering, "All the blue things are MINE," again, despite not having bought any of it.
Also acquired a drumming instruction book.

teinedreugan and
suzimoses at
whispercricket's place. Acquired
keshwyn and
jikharra soon after. Acquired pho soon after that, thereby fulfilling the interesting food impulse of the day (which had failed on Newbury). Attempted to play DDR, failed spectacularly due to having no brains whatsoever. Got good hugs and things.
Came home, accomplished several goals on WoW.
In other news, it takes three pieces of wool to make an exploding sheep.

WoW mystifies me, but that's mostly unfamiliarity.
Is the gargoyle shop still there on Newbury? I should go and carry greetings to the owner again, who last time insisted that I carry off a painting as a gift. Curious place. The first time I saw it, the floor was three inches deep in fallen leaves. Inside the shop. And it was all full of what one might call defrocked ecclesiastical furniture, for which some of us have a fondness.
Exploding... sheep?

Exploding sheep is you being mystified by WoW again, really. My mad scientist character there made ten of them last night. I find it quite satisfying that they involve wool; one could hardly make a proper exploding sheep with linen or silk, after all.

Um, ask
I went to the BPL book sale, too, but was there around noon because I had gaming soon after.

The comment was appreciating the lovely synergy of hooking it up with this post. :)
