Ever since [livejournal.com profile] anu3bis brought the subject up last night, I've been pondering at this critical question:

How does a Reform congregation that has chosen to solemnise a marriage between two people of the same sex handle the ketubah?

(And who breaks the glass?)

(I post this because I'm confident that someone must know, and thus my brain might be satisfied in the knowledge. [livejournal.com profile] anu3bis? [livejournal.com profile] xiphias?)

Does reconstructionist count? Two of my friends were married by a reconstructionist rabbi.

They both broke the glass, and they both signed the ketubah - I believe they used wording that wasn't specifically segregated by gender, if that's what you mean (I guess there's semi-standard wording, but I think most of the weddings I've been to have personalized it a lot - at least, the rabbi generally explained the vows that were chosen for the ketubah).

Piece o' cake....

Just went to the site where Viv and I found our design (though we did get it from the Israel Book Shop in Brookline)

Ketubah Ketubah!

Read their "Alternative Reform" text.

And the one I saw on TV had two glasses. It's a bit much for me, but it's better trying it at the same time and stepping on each others' toes.

BTW - here's the resolution text.

By the way, is that a photocopy of a cat?
