It's very interesting picking up on this now, apparently two years or so after I started it and after finishing the draft of The Devil's Due (which is currently doing its drawer time before editing). The narrating voice is very different from Mikel's, though also first person; his story role is much more a Dr. Watson than the central driving force.

So I'm prodding at the early worldbuilding stuff -- and thank you, [livejournal.com profile] jenett, for that research pointer, it works beautifully -- including some mucking around with sort-of-conlanging, which is always satisfying in a deeply geeky way. Probably progress will be slow, but that's okay.

It's good to have a project. We'll see if it helps Mood Disorder Weekly.


In other writing-related news, I apparently got something right when I wrote to the SDMB, so I can go to sleep content that I'm not completely incoherent.
