(Ah. That would explain why this sounded like 'Mary Jane's Last Dance'.)

Section 176: 533 words. Done. We're definitely winding towards the 'Everything done but weddings' portion of the broadcast, as the half-formed crush generated by one of my characters some sections ago seems to have turned into a dinner date.

Hypothetical family reunion to get through to tie up one plotline. Need to figure out how to tie up the assassins-and-traitor plotline. Then there's just the main line to resolve, and I know what the last line is, I just need to write through to get there; the bits of getting to that point will interleave in among everything else. I'm suspecting the last line has to go in an effective epilogue, just working through the psychology involved -- I don't have six months of plot to get there with.

It's interesting working on finishing this, as the structure of it is so intricate and dominates the rhythm. It's riffing on the structural requirements that The Devil's Dance had, but it's much more sophisticated, and much more complicated, and much more essential to the flows of plotline. Dance had one major structural requirement, and everything else fell in around that; the six-beat of this thing is much more demanding. It's keeping me from buzzing through to a 'the end!' so I can get the thing done, which is a problem I've had in the past; a fortunate thing.

Babbled about the bow Thiara's making in the Semtek campaign at [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut, who now wants it. Mwah-hah-hah. Want my bow. (You know, playing a character up to fifteenth or sixteenth from first level sort of obscures how powerful one is at that point . . . I mean, I know we've gotten some amusing bonuses from the campaign, but even so. . .)

Stupid gut again. Graah.
