Have you ever noticed how you either don't make the wits roll at all, or make a critical success?

(And now I'm suddenly wondering if it's one of those weird quicks of things where -- and here my lack of gaming knowledge shows up, so the following may not apply to any gaming system on the planet -- you need to roll 20 on a d20 to make it at all, so the only way to make it is to make a critical success....)

My theory is that I actually have a very high wits rating and a flaw that means all my wits difficulties are raised. So I on average do about as well as someone with not so good wits, but I have the potential for spectacular thingy.

Also, D&D used to work that way, but they fixed it. ;) Now the 20 is still a hit, but to get the critical success you need to roll another hit after it. ;) So 20 is 'potential critical' rather than 'critical'.
