The footing for the new stoop has been poured; has had health-and-prosperity engravings made in it, and has preserved for eternity a number of chipmunk footprints, which I have photographed. (Our footings have feetings!) Insulation Guy is coming on Monday, assuming rain does not prevent, to put up the trim; mason is also perhaps coming on Monday to put a large rock on the footing.
I have unpacked the book-containing Despair Boxes onto the shelves that can contain them. This is impermanent, not in the 'as are all things' sense, but in the 'the other shelves are about four inches deeper and thus the books that are Large can be given a more appropriate habitat' sense, which will allow for Much Rearrangement of Shelving in the long run. Said shelves have been polyurethaned and are now curing; possibly by Monday they will be adequately cured and also not foul-smelling. I should have thought through this far when we put in a boxes order given that I really want to unpack my KMT magazines into magazine boxes but this can be solved anon.
AR has had a sniffle and cough and thus a chunk of today was spent arranging a pediatric zombie plague test. Of course, because she's four, she's been mostly fine really and I took her out to tootle around on her bicycle. Children have been demanding and argumentative all day, except for KJ who mostly wants to find a nice quiet corner and be left alone, surrounded by books, animals, and computing devices, a perspective for which I have tremendous sympathy.
My attempts to organize myself have led to me making up a calendar of submissions windows so that I stop losing prompts in tabs. I am pretty sure I do not have time to make the two that end in four days but at least I know what I'm missing? ;P
The cover and table of contents for Climbing Lightly Through Forests is up at RB Lemberg's place and look at all those people I'm sharing a TOC with. Wow.
I'm sure I'm missing things. But everything is resembling being too tired right now.
