Dad came up to visit on Tuesday -- he had a meeting Weds. morning in Woburn, and so there was time for him to drop by, spend a few hours, go out to dinner, and such. We spent the afternoon watching the baseball game (he showed up around the fifth inning or something like that) and discussing life. He wants me to go back to school; this is not news. We discussed life and organisation and such. And we discussed Abelard and Heloise, and I now need to read the letters. (I have to see how much of the feeling of Feri-style alignment is Dad's rendition.) Had dinner, discussing boondoggles and dealing with boneheadedness in the Defense Department and such. It was good.

Nothing much came of today. Tree sex season has started a bit, and I decided to put appropriate drugs in my system. This managed to completely knock me out, so there was the decongestant-induced coma in late afternoon, and when [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan got home, we declared ourselves way too crispy to make it to games. Am slightly more coherent now; much of my fuzz is because sleepy, not because drugged out of my mind. I did get kitty snuggles out of it, from both cats even -- Lennon had a brief moment of sociability and curled up next to me with his head and one paw on my arm.

Today's out of context quote is declared to be "Whitney stops hurting herself in ways that are not sexually satisfying now."

Also, the air totem quest on World of Warcraft is shockingly anticlimactic. The earth totem quest involved finding a rock, drinking a potion, and talking to an elemental. The fire totem quest involved getting a pair of item drops from disparate spellcasting enemies, hauling them up an impossible-to-find and just-as-difficult-to-not-fall-off-of mountain path, drinking a potion, and spacking an elemental. The water totem quest involved wandering back and forth across most of the known universe, including to the back-ass end of the Barrens, to get three different types of water which were combined into a potion with a little leftover, and then one had to go to the other side of the world, find a hidden shrine, drink the potion, spack an elemental, purify the elemental's bracers with the leftover bit, and talk to a different elemental. Air totem? Find the path up a cliff. Talk to the shaman there. She says, "Right. Here you go, then."

Bed now.
