- For those lost in the desert's storm
May the desert's son find them
May He hear their calls
And take their hands
And show them the way to the West.
May the black jackal embrace them,
Share their pain,
May Anpw's guidance steady their steps.
May they know the name of every guardian
Turn the head of every crocodile
Take the shape of every spirit
And stand justified in the Hall of Ma'at.
May they become Wesir
May the children they never held love them
And remember their names
May the ones who have lost them
Cherish them ever
Remember their kindness
Their strength.
May the community broken by their loss
Heal and remember them as akhu,
As glorified spirits still within their families.
And may Nebet-Het come to the bereaved
And enfold them in Her gentle wings
And rock them while they give water to the dead:
The water that lifts the bow of the barque
As it reaches the Field of Reeds at last.
May they ascend.
