[livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses and I went to the New England Mobile Book Fair. Most dangerous bookstore in New England. (No, I don't know why it's called the mobile book fair, it's been where it is for at least twenty years now.)

For my haul has been both mighty and cost less than I was afraid it was going to.

The swag:

Boy-Wives and Female Husbands: Studies in African Homosexualities, by Stephen O. Murray and Will Roscoe. (Entirely [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut's fault. Gtst references it in arguments.)
Ancient Egyptian, Mesopotamian & Persian Costume, Mary G. Houston. (I think we can blame this on frustrated SCAdian impulses. Failed to find any eastern European garb resources, rar.)
La Vida Es Sueño, Pedro Calderon de la Barca. (As mentioned in this recent post. Removed from stevelist as appropriate.)
The Magical Universe: Everyday Ritual and Magic in Pre-Modern Europe, Stephen Wilson. (It looked interesting.)
Third Sex, Third Gender: Beyond Sexual Dimorphism in Culture and History, Gilbert Herdt, ed. (Arguably [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses's fault, as he asked me if [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut or I would be interested in it.)
Making Gender: The Politics and Erotics of Culture, Sherry B. Ortner. (Another one that looked interesting.)
Reflections of Osiris: Lives from Ancient Egypt, John Ray. (I'm all about the daily life stuff.)
Days of Honey, Days of Onion: The Story of a Palestinian Family in Israel, Michael Gorkin. (Six bucks worth of "That could be interesting"? Sure.)
Judaism for Everyone: Renewing your Life through the Vibrant Lessons of the Jewish Faith, Shmuley Boteach. (Need more Jewish minutiae.)

Mighty hunter! Mighty mighty hunter! (Then we went and got cheap Indian and I became very full of korma and naan.)

Mmmm, The Dead Heart. Mmmmmmmm.
