Trying to explain head voice and chest voice to [livejournal.com profile] eashack on rasfc of course got me off on a lengthy conversation about music with [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut and [livejournal.com profile] blacktarrant. Including, in my apparent successful explanation of how to find one's break point, [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut figuring out why a particular corner of gtst range doesn't work as well. I feel informative and stuff.

I also spent a lot of time singing, which I haven't done in far too long. It feels good, especially being back in the sort of resonance with Ht-Hrw that that brings out in me. It's been a very Ht-Hert day, actually, given that while [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and I were at dinner we got into a lengthy conversation about childrearing and extended community and such, which was going to turn into a journal entry except that I wound up taking a deminap with the cat tucked tidily under my chin instead. Antihistamines + digesting protein = sleepy birdie. Read a bit in a little random Egyptology thing (Eros on the Nile) that I picked up a while back, which satisfied [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut mightily by being translated from the Polish and thus being a tidy concatenation of a variety of my obsessions.

My basil wishes to rule the world, so I gave it a larger pot to dominate. It was terrifically rootbound. Growing-out-the-bottom-of-the-pot rootbound. The one houseplant I manage to have thrive, and it's an annual. Bah.

134 words. Not so hot.

Helping [livejournal.com profile] autumnesquirrel move tomorrow. Should ought sleep.

I think I've found a book I must have. I've been having mad Khnum moments lately, and prodding at wanting to do the research for both getting the equipment I need and seeing what sort of things I want to try producing. Maybe that has a description of the structure of bas jars. Must get that and the glaze book [livejournal.com profile] jonsinger pointed me at. I should probably work up a spreadsheet or something of the things I need for this business idea, just so I can keep track of them. (Spent some time prodding at graphics for the image I have in my head, because apparently this project is just that much more engaging than the WIP, sigh.)

That was the second reason I wound up on amazon.co.uk within five minutes of myself. The first was much more linear (I wanted to see if Dangermouse was on DVDs that didn't make it to the States), so I went to it directly; the other was on a google search. (For those who care, Dangermouse is indeed on DVD; a cursory examination seems to indicate that four of those are zone 0 and two zone 2.)

I have started a collection of the Little Green Books, which I've been intending for a while; picked up the Odyssey today. Learned that I've been spelling one of the words in the first line incorrectly, hope to teach myself the first bit over time because merely being able to recite the first line of the Odyssey in Greek is just not geeky enough to satisfy me any longer. (I was also tempted by Sappho. Also the Iliad. Homer now, verdict afterwards.) [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan picked up the Iliad and the Odyssey in translation (introductions by Bernard Knox, tee-hee).
