And much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] keshwyn for ginger tea, which makes my stomach muchly happier. (And now I remember this -- said tea was acquired in Cali. [livejournal.com profile] brooksmoses, do you suppose you could keep your eye open for such and bring it out with you if you find some? I would be muchly appreciative, and express my gratitude in whatever way you found preferable.)

This one's all in character, more or less. Though I'm still not sure about the spellings of most of the names. :}

This one's claiming that if you don't follow exactly what the book says, in all its minutiae, you can't possibly consider yourself a follower of the book. Never mind that every such book I know of contains contradictions.

I asked him if he realized that there exist Christians who believe that the basis of their faith is "Love the lord God with all of your heart" and "Love your neighbour as yourself", and the rest is commentary and debate, and an entirely reasonable outgrowth as such from the rabbinical traditions of commentary and debate that persist into at least some forms of modern Judaism. (Can't speak to all, as I don't know all of 'em.)

Then I quoted at him Mark 12:30-34, Matthew 22:36-40, and Luke 10:26-28.
Text of the passages in question (from the New International Version because i didn't bother changing it on the search engine) for people who want to know what I'm on about and don't want to look it up, but put behind a cut tag because it's long. )
