Trouble getting work done; too much D&D in head. So, more session summary in the hopes that getting another one done will let me get wordcount done.

So we walked a lot, with the rock. It wasn't very exciting.

At least no more spiders came and tried to eat it or stick us to things or anything like that. That would have been annoying.

Eventually we got to the edge of the elven woods, and started off towards the court. And we were going along, when all of a sudden two elves sort of appeared and wanted to talk with us -- a scholarly looking fellow and a guy who looked like he was guarding the scholarly looking fellow to be sure he wasn't eaten by spiders.

He said that he had been studying the rock as it got closer and its magic was so strong that it would be a really bad idea if we brought it any closer, especially to Fingul's skull. He wasn't sure what would happen if it did. We talked with him for a while, about magic and other things, and then we hiked right back out of the Elf Wood and started up along the mountains towards Niador's city.

When we were there, we talked to Niador and his family a great deal. He was working hard to get people to pay attention and take us seriously, and since they took him and his family seriously, it was mostly working. We talked to their wizard council about guarding the rock and making sure no Alar came to get it, and they spent a long time thinking about it.

Adosar tested his magic again. I made sure they didn't want me to test mine, but they didn't, 'cause I don't do magic the way he does and probably 'cause I'm not a dwarf either.

Eventually they said that they'd protect the rock and maybe not poke at it too much, so we left it with them and with Niador keeping an eye on them. They said they'd do it if we'd come and help them on an expedition in a few months which was looking after why some dwarven cities in the northern mountain ranges had stopped talking to people recently. (There's an Alar lairing up there somewhere.) We said we'd be back for that, so they took the rock, and Adosar studied their floor pictures in the wizard school so it would be easy to use the teleport spell to get back to it. (Session quote: "Adosar has activated a waypoint." --Shane)

There really wasn't much point going after Astenak right away because he'd already smashed Isen with storms and spirits from the big lake that isn't a lake because it's bigger than that. So we decided to go talk to orks and see if we could deal with Xenecal, because he was hurting real people right away. And having orks on this side of the mountains would be a good idea because of all the hobgoblins.

We tried the teleport magic again to try to get over to the other side of the mountains and see how the land had changed since we walked that way, and the magic didn't work right and we wound up at the gate to the Dark Road on this side. So we decided to go through the Dark Road and see how it had changed since we killed Fingul.

It was much quieter. All those armies were gone. It was mostly just spiders.

Have I mentioned I'm really tired of spiders?

Anyway, eventually we got home, and saw how things were doing there, and talked with people. And then we went up to talk with the Chief's Council, which was on Torvardi land, and Renn went off to talk with druids and Edgewalkers, and the rest of us started talking to the chiefs and everything.

And there was a big bang, and a shout. "Seeeeeemtek! I know you're ouuuuut there. . . ."

I made my tracking magic with the sword, and there was an Alar right outside. In case we couldn't tell from the screaming and things blowing up and him looking for Semtek and all.
