There was a little dish of ground beef on the table next toartan_eter, for purposes of feeding to ER. I am not sure whether it was him or her that knocked it off the table, but he made a grab for the spinning dish, caught the meat that fell out of it, and the bowl hit the floor.
Then there was a long pause, in which he stared at his handful of hamburger.
