Threw out my back before getting out of bed today; this shall suffice to describe the state of my body, though [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan gave me backrubs.

Went to Salem and poked around at things. Used bookstore going out of business, but too disorganised to find things usefully. Picked up a book on Vodou and A Natural History of Sex. Nearly picked up whatever-it-is, the foundational book on Tameran Wicca, when I saw it (I'd never seen it in a store before), but didn't want to track down [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan and hit him up for cash at the time. So of course it wasn't in any of the other pagan stores we poked at. Picked up Urban Primitive on [livejournal.com profile] erispope's recommendation; she says that the parts of it that are too silly to be useful can be read as a Mage splatbook, so. We did not go on the replica East India Company boat, though we dithered about it. My sinuses smelled of pagan for a long time.

Then we went to Harvard Square and barely got in under the wire to get into Pandemonium before it closed. I ran into someone I know I know and can't for the life of me remember who is; local sf fandom connection I'm prrrrretty sure. [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan wanted to pick up a Ravenloft d20 book. The hippie store was closed, so we wandered past the Brattle to get tickets and went to dinner. Good food, as always, I sat down a lot, very good waitress. Then movie. Movie was fucking hilarious; [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan says he must get it on DVD and show it to Everyone He Knows, so local folks consider yourselves warned. Went to Tosci's, came home, watched the remainder of XXX.

And that was day. Working on reading stuff and still dithering about the next bit of the WIP. Must get narrator to the post office so the main character can break in his window.

[livejournal.com profile] elynne, if you haven't seen this deeply bizarre dancing Snape animation, you must. (From [livejournal.com profile] ninglor, but I've seen one of the images before in [livejournal.com profile] iced_spice's userpics.)

Hmm. Any idea if the going-out-of-business bookstore will still be in the process of going out of it when I get there?

Circle of Isis by Ellen Cannon Reed? I love that book. I've seen it at Borders and the annoying Pagan store in Laurel, MD. Now that it has been reissued, it's pretty easy to find, at least around here.

BTW, my dancing Snape icon is by [livejournal.com profile] cdenise, if anyone wants one. :)

One of the authors of Urban Primitive is an ex-housemate of a dear friend of mine. He knows his shit.
