My left kidney is demonstrated kidney-shaped.

Ultrasounds are cold and oozy. Or at least that one was. But I got to peer at the screen, which was cool. Though some of the other internal stuff was incomprehensible. I saw at least one bit of tubing, perhaps fallopian, and a great deal of squishy stuff.

It was remarkably efficient; we got there early enough that they had me in for the ultrasound fifteen minutes early, and we were in and out of the lab to hand in my jug and get blood drawn with a fairly short wait. Total time, about an hour, including the amount of time spent driving around the parking lot looking for a place to pounce on.

I am punctured, lightly vibrated, and free of doctor's appointments for the next couple of weeks. I wonder if they'll find anything interesting, or if this will get chalked up to another incomprehensibility of my personal biology. But I got to peer at the ultrasound, so curiosity is for the nonce sated.

On a lighter, fluffier note, it's frigging snowing.

Hah, that's nothing. I got to watch the video screen for the first colonoscopy. One's insides are far pinker than one would think. Oh ick. I just realized. It's been a couple of years and they're probably going to want to do another one very very soon. I don't mind the procedure so much, but the prep is unspeakably dreadful.

They did an abdominal and a pelvic u/s sequence on me the SAME DAY, within two hours of one another, when my gallbladder started going odd last year. I stumbled out of there-- tired from whatever bizarre thing was going on, needing to pee my brains out, and sore and still coated in glop-- and Neal took my arm and lent his strength and was Supportive and all I managed to say was:

"I'm sticky and sore and didn't even get kissed or taken to dinner first."
