My brother is having a very bad reaction to his essential medication.

They've put him on beta blockers to see if they can bring his heartrate down. He's going to see if there's anything else they can put him on tomorrow.

Apparently he couldn't bear to call me about it, and so he asked my mother to.

Eep. I offer Good Thoughts for your brother's health and well-being, and for Better Living Through Chemistry. Likewise Good Thoughts for everyone associated, for whatever y'all might need.

Erg. Not at all good. I hope for some kind of positive -- or at least balanced -- outcome.

Many hugs for you, and a candle and well wishes for your brother. He is a cool person, and does not deserve this kind of shit in his life. I hope he finds something else that'll work with his digestive tract soon.

Awww. :( He will always be the blond kid who used to make us bacon. I hope he gets better.

Love and hugs.

I'm sorry. I hope they find a solution swiftly.

Aw, crap. I hope he recovers quickly and they find a safe, effective alternative medication.

Eeek. And eeek.

I don't remember what your brother's actual medical problem is (if you ever said, or if they ever found out), but I hope and pray for all your sakes that this works out.

How long has he been on this medication for? Is a reaction after this time period normal?

Asking questions because it's my usual geek answer syndrome response to a crisis. I hope it helps, but ignore me if it doesn't.

First: *hug*

If you'd like, my grandfather seems to be doing a bit better (my dad thinks it was a mis-medication), and if you want to send me any details if you have them, I'd be happy to run them by my dad to see if he has any thoughts. Likely he'll say that he doesn't have any firsthand knowledge, but he might be able to give more overall information.

If this is a semi-experimental drug, then there's likely another option, even if it's not as good, or the very least something they can do shortterm while the figure things out. Hang in there. *hug again*

Good luck.

*big hugs*, if hugs are wanted. Good Thoughts on the way, and continuing.
