Have you heard about the strangler?

Yeah, down by the river
Down by the banks of the river Charles (aw, that's what's happenin' baby)
That's where you'll find me
Along with lovers, fuggers, and thieves (aw, but they're cool people)
Well I love that dirty water
Oh, Boston, you're my home (oh, you're the Number One place).

I told [livejournal.com profile] yehoshua I was bringing the forces of anti-angst into Fenway in game four of the ALCS (I was wearing my RSFAAI shirt).

I done good, huh?

. . . iTunes slays me. It followed "Dirty Water" with "We Shall Overcome".

Not a baseball fan, but the Red Sox winning is still cool. Especially after defeating those damn Yankees. (money doesn't buy everything, George!) I remember how cool it was when the Twins won in 91- I was into baseball then - it must be at least a hundred times cooler for you guys!

A big ol' Nekhtet to the Red Sox Nation!

Congrats!! :) It's so cool to watch the underdog win, I bet the celebrations up there must be really amazing!

No, not really.

Anti-Angst indeed

Unlike you, I grew up with Fenway (kinda). I was born in Cambridge.

Today is most glorious. I've been in a low key kind of shock.

I've been wearing my old-enough-to-be-too-tight Sox jacket today, and it was funny... [livejournal.com profile] akirlu and I went to an "Irish" pub after the game, and I swear, it was like Cheers: "Go Sox!" as soon as I walked in. This in suburban Seattle (the world-renowned Redmond).

And I thought of you, of course. For all that we haven't spoken much at all over the years.

Still.

The great coincidence is that I had a whiny customer at work today, whose last name was -- wait for it -- "Angster".

When I created this icon, I knew. I may have had a hard time keeping the faith, but I still knew. So glad. So glad.
