I wonder is it possible for rape to be about sex to the victim but not *primarily* about sex to the perp? That is, to the perp, sex is just the tool used to gain the power, with power being the goal, rather than sex being the goal?

But I agree that rape is about sex, every time it happens; I'm just interested in figuring out the balance.

And I'd love to know who first came up with the line that it's *not* about sex.
