Inevitability.

So with clearance to start packing things up again -- which I'd been thwarted from for a while, leaving it as a stray unfinished, aggravating task in the back of my mind -- I open up a box, put it on the dining room table, and start clearing off the top shelf of the bookcase there.

I get distracted by other tasks, go to deal with them, and when returning to work on the box of books, I find this.

I should probably have expected it, really.

Our cats are like that, too. Particularly Nemrut - there's a particular size of box we now refer to as Nemrut-sized. Your box is large enough I might even expect two cats at once.

The other cat came by and sniff-inspected the whole box arrangement while I was filling a second box (since evicting the cat from that one seemed a bit rude) but did not attempt to establish cohabitation.
