Bad fanficcers, no biscuit.

You've all corrupted me.

Well, you and [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut, who seems to occasionally go through the fanfic communities on LJ and quote bits at me. (Which may, to add layers of recursion, be my fault, because they crop up on our friendsfriends and I quoted bits sometimes.)

Anyway. I had commented at me some stuff about a particularly horrible fanfic, not only awful in its concept but in its slaughter of Tolkien canon, and developed a strange urge to write fanfic that doesn't make me want to go have a little lie down about the manglings of the universe.

This is a terribly odd impulse for me to have. I haven't written fanfic since I was five or six. And that was about Smurfs.

We'll see if I actually do it sometime.

I want to see you write a good pornographic fanfic. I challenge you!

Erm. I'll just be over here in the corner with the hobbits, then.

Worst Fanfic Ever

You should go to some of the sites that have the worst fanfic ever, they're so funny....

Fanfic can certainly be intriguing if done correctly. But honestly, I think I enjoy the bad stuff better.

There is a LOTR fanfic that involves someone trying to explain to the actual Tolkien characters that they are in a fanfic, and may start feeling strange urges that are out of character. So that is fanfic parodying itself right? fanficfic?
