I have some exhausted, discouraged, depressive brooding to do but I'm too exhausted/discouraged/depressive to formulate writing that right now (if I had time before a Thing, even) so I am not doing it yet.

That article is excellent. I have mentally thought of "not enough slack" as hard drives thrashing when they get too full, but that simile doesn't explain well to non-technical managers, and may be becoming obsolete due to flash drives anyhow.
