It's true about the porkies. I used to work with them, and their quills are full of a sort of styrofoamy substance, and between that and their thick layer of fat, they're like spiky little inner tubes. It's 'cause they're too dumb to learn how to swim, but if they float, they might hit a log or something and maybe crawl to safety.
