Why do we angst in metaphors?

Try to hold on to something we couldn't understand.

Lately (past few weeks) I've been having high school anxiety dreams (including last night, in one of the brief bits where I slept). Which I didn't have when I was in high school. Or in college for that matter. Being me, they're wacky anxiety dreams, like having to go through several levels of actual assembled (and somewhat Rube Goldbergy) levels of something that was a cross between 'Marble Madness' and 'Sokoban' in order to pass calculus, but still, anxiety dreams.

Meh. I'd write stuff down, but I can't. Talked to [livejournal.com profile] oneironaut about some of it; meta-talked to [livejournal.com profile] teinedreugan about some of it -- we don't talk about my pissing and moaning, but we had a lovely discussion about why we don't talk about my angst and under what circumstances that might change.

(In other news, went to Fire and Ice for dinner, and it's all [livejournal.com profile] gwynyth's fault. Also, I would take a picture of the Set figure now that it's fired (and thus the detail on it is visible), but the camera's gone AWOL. The unfired statue is here, though, if anyone wants to see the blurry and sort of smudged-looking version.)
